When installing SharePoint 2010 Beta, an error will occur during the pre-requisites install. Indeed, PowerShell V2 CTP3 will be unable to install because a previous version is already installed.

So, in the setup of SharePoint 2010 Beta setup check-list, add : remove PowerShell V1 (Server Manager => Features => Remove Features and click Next to start the wizard)

Just an FYI... I certain that you didn't need to remove PowerShell v1 now that the V2 RTM will take care of it automatically. Not sure why you use CTP3 but that's not the latest version. Here's a link that might help download the RTM version:

Hope this help in your installation,

Thanks a lot Max for the info.
In fact, in the HW and SW requirements of SP2010 on TechNet (, it is specified the CTP3 and I did not check if there was a more recent release of PowerShell. Just did a copy-paste on the MS download site :-)
Thanks again and I will try with this new version
